En lévitation. Flottant librement, entre techno et electro… Aucun des deux, et encore moins de leurs subtiles nuances, n’est à la mode, ça tombe bien, Lingouf n’a jamais eu cure de… qui que ce soit, en fait. Lingouf trace sa propre route. Libre. Sa techno l’est, riche de ses penchants de plein air comme de ses ascendances belges école Reload Records, de sa house, de ses racines EBM, et son electro l’est aussi, magnifiquement narrative comme peut l’être la dark-wave la plus boursouflégriffue, car cela sied à merveille à la part d’enfance (donc de monstruosité) et de féerie (certains savent peut-être ce que « fée » désigne, du reste) si forte chez Lingouf ; ici davantage que dans de dernières sorties presque ostensiblement (on parle quand même de Lingouf) conceptuelles, réconcilié avec une simplicité qui n’avait peut-être jamais été aussi candide, rayonnante ; poétique à la hauteur d’un Orbital qui aurait dépassé de loin ses propres plus grands jours.
Lingouf, encore, toujours plus, le seul à savoir faire pousser des fleurs sous le Thunderdome ; de belles et pétillantes asphodèles ; et la grâce de germer au milieu des bassdrums.

Un an à peine après la sortie de son album Oeuvre Au Noir, le bouillonnant Lingouf revient par la grande porte, avec un nouvel objet sonore entièrement enregistré avec Analog 4, histoire de limiter les instruments sans pour autant brider son imagination.
Dénué de vocaux, à la différence de son précédent opus, Quatuor Solitaire est une oeuvre aux confluents de la techno et de la symphonie électronique, de par ses envolées mélodiques et ses rythmiques appuyées, à l’image du fantastique Voie Sans Mots, à la montée surpuissante qui procure son lot de sensations fortes. Jamais là où on l’attend, Lingouf ne cesse de surprendre quelque soit le projet proposé, capable de virer à 180° tout en gardant son identité de trublion, semant des petits cailloux sur sa propre voie, histoire de ne pas nous perdre en route. Avec Quatuor Solitaire, il repousse une nouvelle fois ses propres limites, que l’on a un peu du mal à imaginer, tant son parcours prend constamment des chemins de traverse et nous comble de par sa créativité époustouflante, intégrant éléments hardcore, indus, noise, techno, tout au long de ses 7 tracks plus tripants les uns que les autres, habités par une puissance sombre et une rage diabolique. Lingouf possède un don unique pour construire des univers aux croisements des genres, poussés par cette énergie pleine de vie qui donne le tournis, bâtissant une oeuvre exemplaire que l’on écoutera encore pendant longtemps. The Frenchman Vincent Lagouf remains very active on the Ant-Zen label. This is already his tenth cd since he joined this German label in 2008. Complex sounds and influences are skillfully distilled in his own world and environment.
Special about this release is that samples, acoustic instruments and vocals were omitted, so the synthesizer is the only sound source. Each track was recorded in four parts and is therefore an integral part of the concept of this CD. The four fundamental elements are fire, water, wind and air. Each song is a musical journey and although we still catalogue this CD as experimental and industrial, most songs aime at a broader audience than his past work.
Opener Sans Voix starts slowly. The atmospheric electronic tones are joined by bombastic beats. Creaking rhythms and dark atmospheric sounds give us an idea of the changing moods and feelings of this artist.
The conceptual tour continues with Voie Sans Mots: slowly accumulating electronics with amazing twists and atmospheric monotone sounds, without the really heavy experimental sounds that this artist is known for.
We hear dark depressive sounds on Coeur Au Core, and again, those great twists of sound and color, a wonderful versatility on each song, a true tour through the electronic fantasies of Vincent. On Corps De Maux we even hear some metallic electro sounds, joined by distorted and brutal sounding synthesisers. Former releases often sounded like a tsunami of sounds with little variety, but on this album each song is an electronic mixture. The same strategy on Choeur De Pas Sages, with a beautiful arangement of sounds. The danceable dark passages would certainly make some of us move in a dark alternative club. The seven powerful tracks on this release are an example of variable and creative electronic music, ranging from dreamy atmospheres, mighty bass lines, obscure sounds and even danceable electronoise. Ant-zen For more than a decade lingouf has surprised his listeners with a myriad of releases that, while the sound and conceptual approach has constantly changed are always recognizably lingouf. unified by the intention to interpret complex influences and sounds from the outside world by distilling them into his own predetermined work flow – this apparently simplified act has been the basis for an unlimited collection of creative processes.
For the realization of ‘quatuor solitaire’, samples, acoustic instruments and vocals were omitted – leaving only synthesizers as sound sources and each composition was made using only four tracks. this is an integral part of the concept behind this release. like the four basic elements fire, water, wind and air, four tracks can be the raw elements to any individual’s singular universe – a quartet (french: quatuor), a mirror to look inside oneself.
The sonic results of this conceptual excursion are seven powerful tracks with mighty bass pulses, catchy sequencer lines and the peculiar melodies only lingouf is able to create. this is technoid intelligent dance music at it’s best – a perfect balance between ease and tension, suitable for headphones as well as for club sound systems.
